Prague

Our group of more than 40 travellers from around the country arrived in Prague yesterday to comfortable temperatures and sunny skies.  The only real travel problem was at Heathrow where about a half dozen folks were delayed about 6 hours because of aircraft problems.  Our hotel is the Hilton Old Town, which, along with the Marriott across the street, are wonderful places to stay, offering easy walking access to the Old Town and Prague Castle area.  Prague is spectacular.  As one of the few cities that wasn't bombed in WW2, it retains its rustic historic beauty.  Today we were bussed to the Castle and walked back to the hotel, touring the outside of the Castle and doing a complete tour of the Cathedral part of the Castle compound.  It was spectacular - full of charm and beauty.  Several of the group was planning on returning to the castle about 3:00pm this afternoon to get in to see the crown jewels.  Others were planning on visiting some of the other historic castles and, of course, several of the ladies were headed out to shop!  I really is wonderfully beautiful city.
