Yesterday was the wedding day, and it dawned cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. The friends and family were to muster just after noon to be escorted off the ship to the vans that would take us to laceName w:st="on">BolongolaceName> laceType w:st="on">BaylaceType>, where the wedding would take place. Right after breakfast the skies opened up briefly, but then returned to just clouds. We arrived on schedule and the bride and groom were ready, and the wedding company was putting the finishing touches on the arch and chairs. Just as the bride walked with her mother to the awaiting groom, the skies cleared and the sun came out. The simple ceremony was conducted in a warm Caribbean breeze, which provided a very comfortable setting. After some cake and the customary toasts, we headed back to the ship, again under cloud cover, and enjoyed the rest of the day. After dinner the group gathered again for a cocktail party, booked as part of the group benefit, which was a perfect end to the start of their married life together. It was simple, very affordable, and a wonderful day. Off to St. Maarten!
